Black Oak Blocks the Way to the Outer Wall: Path to the Forest Cut Off
The ever-expanding Black Oaks have blocked the path connecting the Black Oak Forest and the Laures Outer Wall. From now on, the forest can only be entered through Hollowdell.
"The path remained until the stone marker with Imperial letters, but beyond that, it had turned into a thicket."
This was reported by an adventurer who recently returned to Durgan after attempting to enter the Black Oak Forest from the Laures Outer Wall. The party reportedly spent half a day searching for a bypass but could not find one.
Upon receiving the news, the Adventurers' Guild immediately dispatched an investigation team to the site. According to their report, thick roots cover the area past the Imperial stone marker, and trunks stand tightly packed along the former trail. Since the path was rarely used to begin with, the exact time it was blocked has not been determined.
The Guild considered restoration, but Black Oak Treants and Giant Spiders have taken up residence in the forest. Consequently, the restoration was called off, and the section has been removed from the map. This leaves only one remaining path to the forest, which passes through Hollowdell to the north.
Anxiety Spreads Among the Workshops of Durgan
The news has cast a shadow over the craftsmen of Durgan. The silk harvested from the forest's Giant Spiders is essential for the lining of armor. Until now, it was transported from the forest via the southern path, but from now on, they have no choice but to wait for it to arrive by way of Kolvent from Hollowdell. One blacksmith lamented, "If the silk doesn't arrive, we can't even finish a single helmet."
The Adventurers' Guild is cautioning people not to attempt to force their way through the path blocked by the Black Oaks.
